Constanta City Hall through the Local Police Department, Constanta County Police Inspectorate through the Office for Crime Prevention and Analysis, the Road Police and the County School Inspectorate marked the European Day Without a Road Death at ‘Constantin Brancoveanu’ School no. 23 through informative and preventive activities and road education.
The event is promoted by the European Commission for Road Safety and its main objective is the awareness of all categories of traffic participants regarding the risks and consequences to which they are exposed by the non-compliance with the traffic rules.
Excessive speed or inadequate to road conditions, driving under the influence of alcohol, the illegal use of the phone while driving a vehicle, driving vehicles with technical failures are some of the factors generating traffic accidents.
The purpose of our actions is a common one: increasing safety in order to allow safe travel on public roads.
Police officers want to adopt a preventive policy built around the citizens, and the citizens have to take primary responsibility regarding their safety and those around them.
In order to avoid unpleasant events, we recommend drivers to concentrate on increasing road safety by reducing speed near educational institutions, and pupils to be careful when crossing the street.
